Is it wheelchair accessible?!?! Can you post info about it? It looks like it has a ramp on the side. In keeping stride with my last post about the Braun van's fuel tank failing, http://www.wheelchairforums.com/forums/showthread.php?p=239#post239
Is it crash tested?
Thanks!

Roll It -- it is wheelchair accessible. and both front seats can be locked back in.
Yep, it has been crash tested at 30 mph. It does have a custom metal fuel tank stuffed tightly between the rear floor and rear suspension.
And the ramp folds down from the passenger side.

Rob,
Very, very cool! Do you have any pics with the ramp open? Who converts these?

We have a stock 1998 Ford Windstar. We have pulled the seats out, except for the two front seats, as we have a Rascal 600T and a Pride Victory that we have with a PVI folding ramp that folds out of the sliding door. We can both load and unload the scooters with one person quite easily.

WHAT? Someone stole the steering wheel.... Not, it's in the back. I drive with the small wheel to the right of the starter ignition control block. (not seen in this pic)

Awesome! I'd love to see more pics. Are there any other X-WAV owners out there with pics of theirs? Does anyone own one of those PT Cruisers? Too cool.

One word of caution... The PT is not big enough for a power chair. ONLY a small frame manual will work.

I talked with a rep at Freedom Motors and they informed me that mid drive power chairs will work well with the PT as long as you're not extremely tall in your chair. That gullwing door is just too cool. They also offered to send me the actual 3rd party crash test reports of any of their vehicles I'm interested in, including the PT and X-WAV. That really impressed me as it seems most other companies are reluctant to do so. Their accessible PT convertible looks like an amazing vehicle http://www.fminow.com/pt/PT_Convertible.htm . They've got an X-WAV, PT Convertible and accessible Scion XB listed on ebay now and there's some great pics of the conversions. If you search ebay motors for "wheelchair van", you'll find the listings. Pretty neat. I was told the X-WAV has a ton of room and will work with most chairs. What do you think Rob? Is the ramp steep? I haven't scheduled an at home demo yet but I'm considering it for both the PT and the X-WAV.

the ramp on the X-WAV is not too steep. no really any steeper than any mini van i have tried.
