I like the atmosphere of the forum a lot; it's very welcoming, with a bunch of friendly people. Is it always this quiet though, or did I just join at a quiet time (August holidays)?

It use to have a lot more people posting but they seemed to have drifted away, Seems to happen with online forums. So it's really just us few hard core stay put's left, though the numbers go up and down over time.

Other forums with larger numbers of users are www.wheelchairjunkie.com or www.disaboom.com , i'm a member of wheelchairjunkie as are most of us who post here, I like it here though, as it has a personal feel, It's like coming home to friends.

Large forums can sometimes be intimidating and even impersonal. It takes longer to make a connection with someone on a larger forum. There's definitely a good cameral sense to Wheelchair Forums.

I guess people have to try different forums till they find one that fits them best.

Yea I like smaller forums too and you get to know the members more. Wheelchairjunkie is more about mobility but its opened its doors to cover more topics now so I think people from here post over there now, but hey I could be wrong.

This forum covers everything:)

It does indeed. I look forward to having the time to go back through some older threads from before I got here, and maybe even resurrecting a few of them!

I know this thread is kind of old but I'll put my 2 cents worth in.
This is the first forum that I've joined that is intended for those of us who are in a
wheelchair and or those who come here for a little education. I have to say that even
though there's not that many ppl posting I enjoy reading the new and old post. I really
like that everyone is from all over and not in just one country.

I'm the same Junky, Wheelchairjunkie is a good forum but very U.S centric, Those of us from other parts tend feel marginalised, Well i do at least. Here things are more balanced with the conversation more generalised.

I like hearing other's point of views from outside my patch of land and I guess I'm more
open to it since thru my work I deal with ppl in Ireland, Greece, South Africa, Asia, South America, etc.

I'm a design drafter for a large pump company. We make fire pumps that pump water thru
sprinklers in building such as hospitals, motels/hotels, or any other type building. We also
build water and sewage pumps for water and wastewater treatment plants and we also
build flood control pumps. I mainly work the fire pump product line and that's how I get
to meet and talk with ppl from all over the world. The corp. office is where I work but we
have a plant in Ireland as well. If you'd like to check us out our website is www.pattersonpumps.com
